Q. How do I reserve books?

The Click & Collect service enables you to reserve items held in stock.

You reserve items for collection using the Library Catalogue.

You can reserve items that are showing as "Available" on the catalogue, as well as items that are out on loan to someone else. Please remember that items which are on loan to someone else will take longer to process as we have to "recall" this item for you.

To reserve an item:

Find the item you want on the catalogue, and click into the record.

Click on 'Reserve this item'. You will then be asked for your library number and to confirm your choice.

If you are using the Discovery Service, you can click on the 'Can I reserve this item?' link to check whether the book is available. This will take you through to the catalogue page (as above).

Collection

You will be notified by email when items are ready for collection. You will have 7 days to collect them.

You will need your card to scan into the Library to access the collection point, which is located on the ground floor near the Library cafe. Items are filed alphabetically by name.

You will need to collect the item from the collection point, and then use the self-service kiosks to issue it to your account before leaving the building.
